Oil production in Kazakhstan, which had decreased due to massive floods, has returned to normal operation. This was announced by the Minister of Energy, Almasadam Satkaliyev, as reported by Zakon.kz.

According to the minister, floods inundated around 500 oil wells, mainly in the Aktobe region.

"There was a slight decrease in oil production, but now the water has receded. We are currently operating normally," said Almasadam Satkaliyev.
Journalists also clarified with the minister whether there is currently a problem with fuel delivery to the flood-affected regions.

"There were indeed issues related to ensuring the delivery of petroleum products. However, they were resolved by using off-road vehicles and specialized equipment. So, in general, there is no significant problem with ensuring petroleum product supply. Mostly, it concerns the North Kazakhstan region," Almasadam Satkaliyev replied.

However, on April 18, the Ministry of Energy stated that due to the flood situation in Kazakhstan, 634 wells at oil-producing enterprises in the Aktobe and Atyrau regions had ceased operations. The total loss of oil production amounted to 16,000 tons.
