In Kazakhstan, KazMunayGas subsidiary KazTransOil has recorded an increase in oil transportation volumes along several regional routes, including Kyrgyzstan, and has also announced the resumption of oil transit to Uzbekistan in December 2025, the company’s press service reported.
The company recalled that oil supplies to Kyrgyzstan were resumed in November 2025 after a long hiatus. Up to 30,000 tonnes are planned to be delivered by the end of the year. Experts link this to the needs of Kyrgyzstan’s oil refining sector and to Kazakhstan’s strengthening role as a transit hub in Central Asia.
In addition, KazTransOil plans to resume oil transit to Uzbekistan in December 2025. The volume pumped along this route may reach up to 35,000 tonnes. The shipments involve Russian crude oil.
Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Energy had previously stated its readiness to ensure the transit of Russian oil to Uzbekistan upon receiving relevant applications. From January to September 2025, around 7.5 million tonnes of Russian oil were transported through Kazakhstan, confirming the country’s growing position as a key regional transit hub.
