In Kazakhstan, the average daily oil production reached 278.4 thousand tons, Kazinform reports, citing the Situational-Analytical Center of the Fuel and Energy Complex (SAC FEC) of Kazakhstan.
According to the operational data of SAC FEC JSC, on January 26, 2025, Kazakhstan recorded a historic high in average daily oil production - 278.4 thousand tons, which is 10.5% more compared to the same date in 2024, when 251.9 thousand tons were produced, the statement said, Kazinform reports.
This achievement became possible thanks to the completion of key stages of the Future Growth Project (FGP) of the Tengizchevroil (TCO) company and the commissioning of the Third Generation Plant (3GP) at the Tengiz field, SAC FEC specialists explained.
Tengizchevroil LLP began crude oil production at its new Third Generation Plant at the Tengiz field.
In November 2024, Energy Minister Almasadam Satkaliyev announced that Kazakhstan would annually produce 100 million tons of oil starting in 2026.
Earlier, it was reported that Kazakhstan would maintain its oil production quota in December 2024 under the OPEC+ agreement at 1.468 million barrels or 200.2 thousand tons per day, following the mutual decision of the alliance members to extend previously agreed commitments until the end of 2024.
OPEC+ agreed to postpone Kazakhstan’s planned oil production increase in December, as weak demand, particularly from China, and rising supply outside the group continue to put pressure on the oil market.
