A Kazakh company plans to supply 600 electric buses to Pakistan. The first buses are expected to be delivered as early as April this year, Kazinform reports.
The agreement was reached during the Kazakhstan-Pakistan Business Forum in Islamabad. The total contract value is $108 million. The company expects to increase exports to Pakistan to 2,000 units by 2027-2028.
According to the Ministry of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan, there is high demand for Kazakh electric buses not only in neighboring countries—Uzbekistan, Mongolia, and Pakistan—but also in several European countries.
"We carry out the full bus production cycle. Today's Kazakhstan-Pakistan Business Forum opened the door to a major market for us. In accordance with the current agreement, we will supply 600 electric buses for passenger transportation." "Furthermore, during B2B meetings, we held talks with representatives of the Pakistani Ministry of Education and agreed on the prospects for the supply of 2,000 buses for school transportation," noted Murat Adilkhanov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Falcon EuroBus.
Following the forum, it is reported that a commercial agreement between the Kazakh and Pakistani companies in the transportation sector is planned to be signed.
The Kazakhstan-Pakistan Business Forum is being held as part of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev's state visit to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
It is worth noting that the President of Kazakhstan and the Prime Minister of Pakistan held talks in a restricted format.
