The official representative of the Kazakh Foreign Ministry, Aibek Smadiyarov, spoke at a media briefing in Astana regarding publications in foreign media that Russia, bypassing sanctions, receives foreign technologies to create weapons, including from Kazakhstan through third countries, Kazinform reports.
“As we said before, we have specialists, experts who study all contracts in advance, and Kazakhstan does not intend to give its platform to circumvent sanctions. To date, not a single Kazakh company is subject to secondary sanctions,” Smadiyarov told media representatives.
In addition, he commented on the protracted absence of the Ukrainian ambassador to Kazakhstan. “This is a normal phenomenon in diplomatic practice. The sending side, in particular, here we are talking about Ukraine, decides for how long this position can be vacant,” Smadiyarov said.
The speaker added that there is no information yet on when a new Ukrainian ambassador to Kazakhstan will be appointed.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan protested to the now ex-Ambassador of Ukraine to Kazakhstan, Petr Vrublevsky, in connection with his statements in an interview with Kazakh blogger Dias Kuzairov. On October 19, 2022, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky removed Vrublevsky from his post.
