Kazakhstan’s key export goods to Central Asian countries are dominated by agricultural products and metallurgical goods, according to data from the Ministry of Trade and Integration, Forbes.kz reports.

The top three export products in 2024 were:

  • Wheat – $860.9 million (15.9% of total exports to the region),

  • Sunflower oil – $252.6 million (4.7%),

  • Unprocessed gold – $238.5 million (4.4%).

Other major exports include metal products, mineral water, flour, and petroleum-based goods.

"Central Asia continues to show strong economic momentum: regional GDP has nearly doubled, and mutual trade volumes have increased by over 60%," said Aitmukhamed Aldazharov, Director General of QazTrade under Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Trade and Integration. "These indicators reflect the growing potential of the internal market and the deepening of economic integration. As the region’s largest economy, Kazakhstan is focused on systematic export development, which enables our producers to compete successfully in the EU, Middle East, and Asian markets. At the same time, Central Asia remains a strategic priority."

In 2024, trade turnover between Kazakhstan and other Central Asian countries reached $7.6 billion. Meanwhile, the population of the region continues to grow steadily and has now surpassed 80 million people.
