Korean company Daewoo E&C expands its business in Turkmenistan

The Korean construction company Daewoo Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd. (Daewoo E&C) has announced its plans to open a branch in Turkmenistan in the coming months, as reported by "Business Turkmenistan" citing BusinessKorea magazine.

The President of Daewoo E&C, Pak Jong-wan, revealed that the company is already working on several projects in Turkmenistan, including the construction of plants for the production of phosphoric and carbamide fertilizers. He also expressed hopes of participating in other promising projects in the energy, transportation, and infrastructure sectors.

On July 17, Daewoo E&C hosted a delegation from Turkmenistan, led by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Baymyrat Annamammedov, at its headquarters in Seoul. During the meeting, the parties discussed collaboration opportunities and exchanged views on current and future projects.

Daewoo E&C is one of the largest construction companies in Korea, founded in 1973. The company specializes in building thermal, nuclear, and tidal power plants, LNG terminals, residential and commercial buildings, roads, and bridges. It operates in over 30 countries worldwide and has branches in 13 countries.
