Daniyar Bostonov, Director of the State Civil Aviation Agency of Kyrgyzstan, paid a working visit to Tokyo, where he held a series of meetings with representatives of Japan’s aviation and tourism sectors, Economist.kg reports.
During the visit, Bostonov met with Araki Yazumiji, Deputy Director General of the Financial Cooperation Department at JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency). The two sides discussed the ongoing implementation of a project aimed at improving Kyrgyzstan’s air traffic management system at the Manas, Osh, and Issyk-Kul airports. The project is financed by the Japanese side.
Key components of the project include the construction of a new air navigation tower at Osh International Airport and the modernization of related infrastructure.
Bostonov also held talks with the consulting firm Nippon Koei, which is overseeing the project, and met with senior executives from All Nippon Airways and Japan Airlines.
The Kyrgyz delegation presented plans for the development of a new airspace entry point in the south of the country, near the Chinese border—an initiative that opens opportunities for launching direct or transit flights between Japan and Kyrgyzstan.
In addition, the director met with Naoki Baba, a representative of Nippon Travel Agency. The two sides explored prospects for promoting Kyrgyzstan as a tourist destination, including the development of joint travel products and tour routes.
