A high-level meeting took place in Bishkek between Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov and Saodat Mirziyoyeva, Chief of Staff of the President of Uzbekistan, according to the Kyrgyz presidential press service. The visit is seen as a symbol of deepening bilateral ties and a new wave of diplomacy led by a younger generation of leaders.
Mirziyoyeva conveyed greetings from her father, Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and emphasized that relations between the two countries have reached a strategic level, built on mutual trust, respect, and good neighborliness.
The talks focused on strengthening cultural, educational, and humanitarian cooperation. The sides agreed to expand academic exchanges, launch joint research projects, and establish language centers to promote mutual understanding.
Special attention was given to youth cooperation. The intellectual game “Zakovat,” held in Bishkek, was highlighted as a successful platform for dialogue and leadership development for the next generation.
Economic cooperation was also discussed, including the development of cross-border trade, visa facilitation for business, and the creation of joint ventures in agribusiness and tourism. The potential for collaboration in regional initiatives, such as water-energy management and climate monitoring, was also noted.
Following the meeting, the two sides agreed to establish working groups and hold regular expert consultations. A series of agreements in education, culture, and youth policy are expected to be signed in the coming months.
