Kyrgyzgeology Becomes Lead State Operator as Mining Investment Tops $1 Billion

State Enterprise (SE) "Kyrgyzgeology" has emerged as the key state operator for geological research and mineral base expansion in 2025. Over the past two years, the enterprise received 1 billion soms from the national budget to modernize its technical fleet, according to the Ministry of Natural Resources of Kyrgyzstan, Economist.kg reports.

The state funding allowed for the purchase of over 50 units of advanced geological machinery and equipment. This overhaul significantly boosted exploration quality, leading to:

  • Resource Identification: Forecasted resources were determined at several sites by the end of 2025.
  • State Inventory: Reports are being finalized to officially register these reserves on the state balance sheet, paving the way for future field development and investor attraction.

The "Central Laboratory" state enterprise ensured rigorous control over subsoil use, inspecting more than 181,000 tons of concentrate and 47.7 tons of technological samples. In 2025, the laboratory reported strong financial performance:

  • Revenue: 339.8 million soms
  • Net Profit: 116.8 million soms

Between 2021 and 2025, Kyrgyzstan signed over 10 memorandums and agreements with foreign states and international organizations. These partnerships introduced modern research methods and specialist training programs. Consequently, total investment in the mining sector during this period exceeded $1 billion.
