A historic agreement on the acquisition of two modern Airbus A321ceo aircraft was signed at the Presidential Administration of Kyrgyzstan. The document was executed by Manasbek Samidinov, Chairman of the Board of JSC "Airports of Kyrgyzstan," and Steve Zissis, General Director of BBAM Aircraft Leasing & Management. Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliev attended the ceremonial signing, Economist.kg reports.

The Head of Government emphasized that the deal was made possible thanks to open dialogue and mutual trust between the partners. According to him, the modern airliners will elevate the country's civil aviation sector to a qualitatively new level.

Kasymaliev cited impressive statistics: between 2021 and 2025, passenger traffic at Kyrgyz airports grew by 52%, while the number of flights increased by 53%. Whereas only five airports were operational five years ago, today all aviation hubs across the republic have been restored to full service.

Significant progress has also been achieved in aviation safety. Following ICAO audits conducted in 2023–2024, Kyrgyzstan's aviation system confirmed its compliance with international standards. The aviation security effectiveness indicator reached 85.76%, creating tangible prerequisites for the country's removal from the European Union's air safety "black list." A final audit by the European Commission is expected in the coming days.

Johan Pelissier, President of Airbus Europe, noted the established direct dialogue with Kyrgyzstan's aviation industry and expressed readiness to pursue new joint projects.

Delivery of the Airbus A321ceo aircraft is scheduled for late 2026. The new airliners will join the fleet of the national carrier Asman Airlines, enabling expanded flight routes, enhanced passenger comfort, and strengthened aviation safety standards.
