The Ministry of Agriculture of the Kyrgyz Republic, in collaboration with the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), has developed a strategic plan for the development of a fruit cluster in Kyrgyzstan, according to information from the Kyrgyz Ministry of Agriculture.

The concept of developing such a cluster involves strengthening the interconnections between the key components of the fruit industry, including farmers and processors, as well as its supporting elements, such as research institutions and government agencies. In other words, those involved in the production, processing, and distribution of fruits will be spatially linked and organically connected through an institutional system.

The plan for the first five years focuses on promoting the fruit cluster and enhancing its potential through the implementation of pilot projects in the Osh and Batken regions.

The long-term goal is to expand the pilot projects to the Chui, Jalal-Abad, Naryn, Talas, and Issyk-Kul regions.
