Clothing production in Kyrgyzstan increased by 56.2% in physical volume in July 2023 compared to July 2022, and from January to July compared to the same period of the previous year, it grew by 40.2%, Akchabar reports.

"The increase in textile production, clothing and footwear production, leather and other leather goods was achieved by increasing clothing production by 1.6 times," explained the National Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan.

The most significant growth is observed in the production of underwear, particularly lower knitwear, which increased by a remarkable 823.5%, from 46.9 thousand pieces to 433.1 thousand pieces. Additionally, there was an increase in the production volumes of men's and women's outerwear by 41.3% (reaching 2.847 million pieces) and by 52.8% (reaching 8.5237 million pieces) respectively.

It is worth noting that there is a decrease in the production of fabrics and leather goods. However, footwear production dropped by almost 50% to 1.3 million pairs.

The majority of Kyrgyzstan's textile products are intended for export.
