The Kyrgyz company "Kyrgyz Cashmere" will produce 80 tons of high-quality fiber thanks to new equipment provided through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The company opened a new workshop in Bishkek to process goat down, yak wool and camel wool. This was stated by the American diplomatic mission in Kyrgyzstan, the portal Akchabar.kg reports.
It was noted that the Kyrgyz Cashmere Company will increase the income of hundreds of families by expanding the collection of wool in Batken, Jalal-Abad, Naryn, Osh and Issyk-Kul regions.
“Our production will create economic opportunities for even more families. In the long term, we will be able to expand the enterprise and collect wool from other Central Asian countries,” says Sai Belohlavek, one of the founders of Kyrgyz Cashmere.
During the opening ceremony of the workshop, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Bakyt Torobaev expressed his conviction that Kyrgyz Cashmere would become a brand of Kyrgyzstan.
The company provides high quality fiber processing to improve the competitiveness of Kyrgyz cashmere and yak wool in the international market. Kyrgyz Cashmere will train shepherds and introduce innovative processing methods to increase the export of Kyrgyz cashmere to high-quality clothing manufacturers in Europe.
