In Kyrgyzstan, there are over a million hectares of irrigated land. To supply water to these irrigated lands, the country has a state irrigation fund, which consists of canals with a total length of nearly 5,900 km. Among these, 2,500 km are canals with concrete lining, and almost 3,400 km are earthen channels.

The Ministry of Agriculture's Water Resources Service in Kyrgyzstan has summarized the results of its work for the current year. Activities have been carried out to reconstruct and modernize outdated irrigation systems, construct new facilities, and initiate centralized improvements in the state accounting of irrigation water.

For this year, 935.6 million soms were allocated from the republican budget for repair and restoration work. Using these funds, repairs, concreting, and mechanized cleaning have been conducted on 634.7 km of canals. Additionally, repairs have been carried out on 683 hydraulic structures, 275 hydrometric posts, and eight daily regulation basins.
