Kyrgyzstan is demonstrating stable growth in sugar beet production and successfully processing its entire harvest. In 2024, Kyrgyz farmers harvested a record 120,000 tons of beet sugar, reports Akchabar.kg.

This achievement was made possible due to the effective support of the industry by the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of Kyrgyzstan, which has been creating favorable conditions for expanding production capacities. The ministry's measures allow processing plants in the country to confidently handle raw materials beyond domestic demand while fulfilling commitments to partners on time.

Kyrgyz enterprises are ready not only to meet domestic needs but also to support neighboring Kazakhstan. Under an agreement between the Merken Sugar Plant (Kazakhstan) and the Kaindy-Kant company (Kyrgyzstan), the Koshoy plant processed Kazakh sugar beets delivered in 294 railcars in January-February this year. The entire volume of processed sugar was promptly returned to Kazakhstan.
