Kyrgyzstan's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) for January–September 2024 amounted to over 951.8 billion soms ($10.9 billion), which is 8.4% higher than the same period in 2023. These figures were presented by Kyrgyzstan's National Statistics Committee, reports Economist.kg.
The services sector continues to dominate Kyrgyzstan's economy, accounting for 49.3% of total GDP. However, this share has decreased compared to 2023, when it was 49.8%. The contribution of industry and construction has increased from 21.6% to 23.9%, indicating growth in these sectors. Meanwhile, agriculture's share has declined to 10%, down from 11% in 2023.
With the average population rising to 6.5 million people, GDP per capita increased to 132,000 soms, which is 12% higher than the previous year. The Consumer Price Index (CPI) for the reporting period was 4.8%, indicating a slowdown in inflation compared to last year (11.7%). Additionally, the minimum subsistence level in the country rose to 7,890 soms, an increase of 1.7% compared to the previous year.
Positive shifts were also noted in foreign trade. Export volumes grew to $2.8 billion, up 28.2% compared to the same period last year. Imports also increased, reaching $9.3 billion, with a growth of 3.7% year-on-year.
