The GDP of Kyrgyzstan for the period from January to July 2024 amounted to over 677 billion soms, or more than $8 billion, with a real GDP growth rate of 8.7%.

Thanks to a balanced monetary policy, inflation slowed from 14.7% in 2022 to 7.3% in 2023. The country’s GDP reached 1.23 trillion soms ($13.9 billion), which is significantly higher than in previous years. GDP per capita was nearly $2,000, compared to just $1,230 in 2020.

These figures were presented by the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Akylbek Japarov, during a meeting with representatives of foreign companies. He attributed the success to several factors—reducing the shadow economy, increasing tax revenues and customs duties, which allowed for salary increases for teachers, doctors, cultural workers, and overall improvements in the population’s living conditions.

A. Japarov noted that "such growth, in the face of global instability and challenges, indicates that the economy has not only adapted but has reached a new level and demonstrated an exceptional breakthrough."
