Several major international airlines are listed as debtors to Airports of Kyrgyzstan OJSC, with total outstanding obligations approaching 1 billion soms (approximately $11 million). This data comes from the company’s 2024 financial report, as reported by Akchabar.kg.

As of the end of 2024, the largest share of accounts receivable was attributed to 18 leading international carriers. According to the report, the combined debt of these top debtors amounted to 856.2 million soms (around $9.8 million), representing 78.26% of the company’s total accounts receivable.

Turkish Airlines tops the list, with a debt of 333.9 million soms ($3.8 million) as of December 31, 2024—accounting for nearly 40% of the total debt owed by the top debtors.

Pegasus Airlines ranks second, owing 139.3 million soms ($1.6 million), while Aeroflot PJSC takes third place with 66 million soms ($750,000) in outstanding payments.

Other significant debtors include:

  • Air Astana – 72.8 million soms

  • U.S. Military – 59.3 million soms

  • Wizz Air Abu Dhabi and Jazeera Airways – over 37 million soms (about $420,000) each

In addition to airlines, the list of debtors includes duty-free operators (owing 10.7 million soms) and logistics companies. However, commercial airlines are responsible for the overwhelming majority of the debt—more than half a billion soms.

The financial strain caused by unpaid dues poses challenges for Airports of Kyrgyzstan, the operator of the country’s major airports, including Manas International Airport in Bishkek.
