Famous medical luminaries and high level official from the Turkic world gathered in the Uzbek city of Samarkand for a Congress.
The purpose of the event is to study the unique heritage, rich experience, and historical traditions of medicine among Turkic peoples, as well as to promote and popularize achievements in modern innovative medicine.
Delegations from member countries of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) led by health ministers, as well as from Tatarstan, Russia, are participating in the congress.
The Secretary-General of the Organization of Turkic States, Kubanychbek Omuraliev, welcomed the guests and participants.
In his speech, the Minister of Health of Uzbekistan, Amrillo Inoyatov, reminded that the event is taking place on the birthday of the prominent scientist, the founder of modern medicine, Abu Ali ibn Sina, known in the West as Avicenna.
A native of Bukhara, through his discoveries, elevated areas of medicine such as anatomy, psychology, pharmacology, therapy, surgery, diagnostics, and hygiene to a new level. His thousand-year-old teachings on the identification, treatment, and prevention of diseases remain relevant today, as humanity realizes again and again.
At the Congress, the Minister of Health of Kazakhstan, Azhar Giniyat, the First Deputy Minister of Health of Kyrgyzstan, Tilek Mamadaliev, and the Minister of Health of Tatarstan, Marcel Minnullin, also spoke about the prospects of cooperation.
The Minister of Health of Azerbaijan, Teymur Musayev, suggested holding the next session of health ministers from member countries of the Turkic organization in the city of Shusha, declared the cultural capital of the Turkic world for 2023.
OTS officially includes 4 countries from Central Asia as well as Turkiye and Azerbaijan.
