Tajikistan imported around 7.7 thousand tons of medicinal drugs in the first 6 months of 2023, Sputnik reports.
The Tajikistani authorities allocated approximately $30 million for this purpose.
This figure is 2 thousand tons higher than the same period in 2022. The Tajikistani Customs Service emphasized that Tajikistan imported medicines from 51 countries.
However, the primary exporters were India, which accounted for 38% of the total quantity, and Russia with 25% of the drugs.
Earlier, it was reported that there was an increase in HIV infection cases in the Sughd Region.
During the first 6 months of 2023, 150 residents were diagnosed with HIV infection, which surpasses the cases during the same period in 2022 by 27 cases.
Currently, more than 2.5 thousand people are registered with the Sughd Regional Center for the prevention and control of infection.
