In the Research and Production Center of the Turkmen Agricultural Institute, a fine-fiber cotton variety "Yoleten-58" was created through selection. It was obtained by selection from the population of the Yoloten-42 cotton variety, Turkmenportal.tm reports.
The weight of a cotton boll of the new variety is 33 grams. The seeds are medium-sized, light green in color, according to the Turkmenistan newspaper.
The yield of the new variety is 33.2 centners per hectare, which is 2.1 centners more than the standard variety. It ripens a day earlier than standard varieties. The new variety is also resistant to fungus.
Currently, Yoleten-58 is being tested in the fields of Mary and Akhal velayats.
