The Embassy of Tajikistan in Russia has reported on the outcomes of a visit by official representatives of Tajikistan to the cities of Yekaterinburg, Ufa, Novosibirsk, Moscow, and St. Petersburg. The purpose of the trip was to familiarize themselves with the living and working conditions of Tajik citizens in Russia, the Russian portal RBC-Novosibirsk reports.

"On the instruction of the Government of Tajikistan, working groups were organized with the aim of familiarizing themselves with the living conditions of labor migrants in Russia and conducting explanatory work among them. Representatives of Tajikistan's ministries and agencies are included in the groups," states the Embassy of Tajikistan.

The press service of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the representatives of Tajikistan notified about their visit "officially and in advance, in full compliance with the norms of diplomatic practice." The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that, to the best of their knowledge, the members of the delegation were satisfied with the outcomes of the trip, considering their communication with the diaspora "as very useful and productive."

"Labor migration to Russia is a long-term trend that is mutually beneficial. In this context, Russian profile structures pay special attention to the necessity of conducting systematic informational and explanatory work with their communities in order to ensure compliance with Russian legislation by their members and to prevent involvement in destructive activities," the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs revealed.

According to official reports from the Russian Migration Service, there are currently over 3 million Tajik labor migrants in Russia. The official delegation sent to Russia by the government of Tajikistan visited the cities with the largest population of Tajik migrants.
