In Kazakhstan, repair works have commenced at the Shymkent oil refinery, leading to the temporary suspension of its operations. This information was disseminated by the press service of JSC "NC KazMunayGas."
"The planned preventative maintenance is being carried out in compliance with the law on civil defense in the field of industrial safety to ensure the further safe operation of the enterprise's technological facilities and in accordance with the schedule of the Ministry of Energy," the statement reads.
Prior to the suspension of the refinery's operations in Kazakhstan, sufficient reserves of all types of petroleum products were created. They will be distributed evenly across the domestic market.
Furthermore, fuel production continues in a regular mode at the Pavlodar Petrochemical and Atyrau Oil Refineries. Planned preventative maintenance works on these facilities will be conducted during the summer and autumn of the current year.
Earlier, Kazakhstan's Minister of Energy, Almasadam Satkaliyev, stated that Kazakhstan does not experience shortages of gasoline and diesel fuel, as their reserves in the country are sufficient.
Kazakhstan is one of the main exporters of petroleum products to the Central Asian countries.
