President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov held talks with Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Imangali Tasmagambetov, who arrived in Bishkek on an official visit, the press service of the President of Kyrgyzstan reported.

Kyrgyzstan attaches great importance to the CSTO as a guarantor of security in the region, the President of Kyrgyzstan noted at the meeting. Zhaparov recalled that exercises with the CSTO peacekeeping forces "Indestructible Brotherhood-2023" will be held in Kyrgyzstan this year, the report says.

The parties also touched upon the topic of combating international terrorism. Zhaparov spoke in favor of strengthening work on timely response and prevention of possible destructive manifestations. Kyrgyzstan is taking appropriate measures aimed at ensuring the security and stability of the country, the leader of Kyrgyzstan noted.

In turn, Imangali Tasmagambetov told Zhaparov about the organization's programs and priorities for the near future, as well as about preparations for the next session of the CSTO Collective Security Council. He presented the President of Kyrgyzstan with information on the implementation of the action plan for the implementation of the decisions of the CSTO Council session held in November 2022.
