Potential of cooperation discussed Presidents of Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held talks in Baku with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev. The head of Turkmenistan expressed gratitude to his colleague for the invitation to take part in the meeting of the Contact Group of the Non-Aligned Movement at the highest level.

At the meeting, Berdimuhamedov noted that Azerbaijan actively participated in the Non-Aligned Movement during its chairmanship and congratulated Ilham Aliyev on this, reports Orient.tm.

Noting that the Movement plays an important role in maintaining international peace and security, Berdimuhamedov stressed that special attention is paid to the fight against the pandemic within the framework of the Non-Aligned Movement.

President Aliyev thanked the President of Turkmenistan for attending the high-level meeting, adding that this event created good opportunities for discussing bilateral ties.

Azerbaijan always pays special attention to the development of relations with Turkmenistan, Aliyev said. He welcomed the political dialogue between the two countries, adding that cultural and humanitarian ties are also actively developing.

It was noted that there are wide opportunities for cooperation between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan in the fields of energy, cotton growing, transport, investment and others.

Azerbaijan is increasing its transport and transit capabilities, which will open up additional opportunities for the transportation of Turkmen goods through the country in the future, the Azerbaijani leader stressed.
