Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov and President of Adani Group Gautam Adani discussed in Astana the prospects for launching various investment projects in Kazakhstan, Zakon.kz reports.
Smailov and Adani considered the possibility of implementing projects in such sectors as transport and logistics, energy, mining and metallurgical complex, petrochemistry, agriculture, etc.
All these areas are a priority for the economy of Kazakhstan, where they see high potential in cooperation with the Adani Group, Smaliov emphasized during the conversation.
He also added that favorable conditions have been created in Kazakhstan for launching new investment projects and doing business. At the same time, according to him, the government is ready to provide all necessary support for the implementation of the holding's projects in Kazakhstan.
The Adani Group is primarily interested in projects for the development of civil aviation, the petrochemical sector, transport and logistics infrastructure, renewable energy sources and the production of "green" hydrogen, Adani said.
"We are interested in long-term investments, and we would like to know what opportunities we have in Kazakhstan, what projects may be of common interest to us. We are determined to work very actively."
Adani Group is an Indian multinational conglomerate founded by Gautam Adani in 1988. The group of companies is present in 70 countries of the world and owns assets with a total value of $100 billion. It is noted that over the years of its activity, the conglomerate has created more than 100 thousand direct and indirect jobs around the world.
Gautam Adani is the richest person in Asia and the third richest person in the world with a net worth of $129 billion according to Bloomberg magazine ($136 billion according to Forbes).
The President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, was the first to receive Gautam Adani in Astana and discussed promising joint projects with him.
