Migrants transferred $174.4 million to Kyrgyzstan in September 2023, which is $18.5 million more than the previous month, according to a report from the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan.
Compared to September 2022, the indicator decreased by 1.7 times, or $117.5 million. The majority of money transfers come from Russia - $159.8 million. From other countries, $8.6 million was transferred to Kyrgyzstan, and from the United States - $2.9 million.
In total, from January to September 2023, Kyrgyz nationals abroad transferred $1.4376 billion to the country. This is 35% or $774 million less than in 2022.
As of September 2023, there was a outflow of funds - $35.2 million. The monthly indicator decreased by $2.9 million. Compared to September 2022, the indicator decreased by 4.8 times, or $135.2 million.
The majority of the money was withdrawn to Russia ($32.3 million). In total, in the first nine months of 2023, $360.1 million was withdrawn from Kyrgyzstan, which is $419.2 million less than the 2022 figure.
The net inflow of money transfers to Kyrgyzstan in January-September 2023 amounted to $1.0775 billion. This is 24.7% or $354.7 million less than the nine-month figure in 2022.
