Remittances to Kyrgyzstan from migrants increased in September

Migrants transferred $174.4 million to Kyrgyzstan in September 2023, which is $18.5 million more than the previous month, according to a report from the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan.

The majority of the money was withdrawn to Russia ($32.3 million). In total, in the first nine months of 2023, $360.1 million was withdrawn from Kyrgyzstan, which is $419.2 million less than the 2022 figure.

The net inflow of money transfers to Kyrgyzstan in January-September 2023 amounted to $1.0775 billion. This is 24.7% or $354.7 million less than the nine-month figure in 2022.

At the end of last year, the volume of money transfers to Kyrgyzstan amounted to $2.9282 billion. From Kyrgyzstan to other countries, $1.2007 billion was transferred. The net inflow was $1.7275 billion.
