In August, cross-border money transfers to Kyrgyzstan totaled $342.5 million, marking the highest level since June 2022, Akchabar.kg reported, citing the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan.
For comparison, in July transfers amounted to $317.7 million, while the average monthly figure for the first eight months of 2025 stood at $290.3 million.
The bulk of the transfers came from CIS countries — $325.4 million, including $318.7 million from Russia and $3.8 million from Kazakhstan. Transfers from non-CIS countries reached $17.1 million, with $11.2 million originating from the United States and $1.5 million from Turkey.
Since the beginning of 2025, the total inflow of remittances has reached $2.32 billion, an 18.7% increase compared to the same period last year. For comparison, neighboring Tajikistan received around $2 billion in remittances during the same period, though its growth rate was lower.
The net inflow — the difference between incoming and outgoing transfers — amounted to $297.2 million in August, up 7.5% from July.
The increase in remittances reflects rising economic activity among labor migrants and the strengthening of financial flows across the region.
