The volume of remittances received by Uzbekistan in 2025 reached $18.9 billion, an unprecedented 27.2% increase compared to the previous year. This was reported by the Central Bank of the Republic in its final report, according to Gazeta.uz.

The actual figures significantly exceeded expert expectations. While at the beginning of 2025, the regulator predicted growth of 10-12%, the final figures were almost two and a half times higher than the initial projections.

The peak of activity occurred in the second half of the year:

  • July: $1.97 billion (year high);
  • August: $1.9 billion;
  • October: $1.86 billion

Central Bank experts identify two key influencing factors:

Currency factor: The strengthening of the national currencies of key partner countries, particularly the Russian ruble, significantly increased the dollar value of remittances.

Migration diversification: The growing flow of migrant workers not only to traditional countries but also to new countries abroad provided an additional influx of foreign currency.

Remittances have become critical in ensuring the country's stability. According to the National Statistics Committee, the share of foreign transfers in total household income increased from 16.5% to 21%, and in some regions of the country, this figure exceeded 30%.

"The high growth rate of remittances is a fundamental factor supporting domestic consumption and ensuring stability in the foreign exchange market of Uzbekistan," the regulator emphasizes.

At the same time, high levels of currency exchange activity were recorded: the positive difference between dollar sales and purchases by the population amounted to $9.7 billion, 1.4 times higher than the previous year.
