Revenues to budget of Kyrgyzstan from "tax on Google" increased 10 times

In the first five months of 2023, foreign companies in Kyrgyzstan significantly replenished the state budget by paying VAT on e-services as a “Google tax”.

In total, the state budget of Kyrgyzstan received 59.4 million soms. This represents an increase of 10.4 times, or 945%, compared to the same period in 2022, when foreign companies contributed only 5.7 million soms, Akchabar.kg reports.

The “Google tax” was introduced in Kyrgyzstan on January 1, 2022. One of the first to pay this tax was Yandex Go, Megogo and Xsolla.

Within one year, 39 companies from the USA, Dubai, Ireland, the Netherlands, Great Britain, Canada, Cyprus, the United Arab Emirates, Russia and other countries passed remote tax registration through the service of the Tax Service of Kyrgyzstan.

Among them are brands such as Google, Amazon, Netflix, Yandex Go, Adobe, Xsolla, Spotify, Audible, etc.
