South Korea is interested in cooperation with Turkmenistan in the field of water management, according to the Minister of Environment of the Republic of Korea, Han Hwa Jin, Orient.tm reports.
This pertains to collaboration in the comprehensive management of water resources, desalination of seawater, and support for contacts with relevant institutions, Sisun News says.
The foundation for the export of these opportunities is planned to be laid during the 16th Cooperation Forum "Central Asia - Republic of Korea" held in Ashgabat, where representatives and officials from South Korean companies in this field are meeting with colleagues from Central Asia. Additionally, the Fifth Turkmen-Korean Business Conference is taking place.
"We plan to establish the foundation for the water sector's export by studying practical measures of cooperation, such as comprehensive water resource management and seawater desalination," the minister stated.
The beginning of the last autumn month of the year marked the start of an active negotiation process between major companies and government agencies from the Central Asian republics and the Republic of Korea on the sidelines of the Ashgabat forum. Within the framework of bilateral contacts, the parties have already signed a substantial package of documents.
