Kyrgyzstan received record dividends for the year 2022, the Ministry of Finance of Kyrgyzstan stated on the execution of the state budget for the first half of the year, Akchabar reports.

In 2021, dividends accrued on the state's share package amounted to 1.8 billion soms, while in 2022, they increased sixfold to 11.1 billion soms. This is a record figure for the country.

It's worth noting that in 2021, the small dividends were partially offset by the payment of over 6 billion soms in profit to the treasury by the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan. However, in 2022, there were no similar transfers, meaning that the 11.1 billion soms were solely from dividends.

Upon examining the financial reports of state-owned companies, it was revealed that almost the entire volume of dividends came from the gold mining company Kumtor. In 2022, the company paid Kyrgyzstan $70 million in dividends, which is equivalent to 6 billion soms. An additional 1.3 billion soms came from the international airport "Manas" to the treasury.
