The armed forces are a reliable pillar of the state, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said at the All-Army Conference.
“Preserving the territorial integrity of our Motherland is our sacred duty. From time immemorial, our ancestors did not allow anyone to encroach on our lands and bequeathed to us to keep them. Our main task is to protect this great heritage like the apple of our eye... The armed forces are called upon to reliably protect these fundamental values,” Tokayev said.
Power structures must meet modern requirements, the President of Kazakhstan emphasized. He said that a command of special operations forces had been created for this purpose. In addition, work is underway to improve the combat skills of the air assault troops.
“The potential of the territorial defense forces is being strengthened, civil defense units are being formed. The development of special forces units continues at an accelerated pace. They should be gradually provided with the necessary equipment. All of these tasks must be completed within the specified time frame. In counteracting negative phenomena, it is extremely important to build the closest cooperation between state bodies. A strong army is the guarantor of peace and tranquility,” the President stressed.
It is necessary to continue the technological modernization of the army. It is necessary to increase the share of modern weapons and equipment, especially high-precision weapons, drones and robotic systems. To increase the mobility of troops, it is necessary to increase the fleet of military transport aviation and combat vehicles.
During the meeting, the need to develop the system of military education and science was separately noted. Domestic military academies and institutes must meet international standards.
