The Parliament of Tajikistan has approved a document that will regulate the process of deporting citizens of the Republic from Russia to their homeland in the event of their violation of Russian legislation, Sputnik reports.

This agreement was signed during a joint session of representatives from Tajikistan and Russia, according to the announcement.

The document has now been sent to the upper house of the Tajikistan Parliament for its final approval.

The necessity of signing an agreement on Dushanbe's commitment to repatriate migrants who have violated Russian laws was pointed out by the Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sergey Lavrov, in 2019.

It was previously announced that Tajik citizens detained in Russia for illegal migration will be deported to their homeland.

As of April 2023, 26 citizens of Tajikistan were in a detention center for foreigners in the Vladimir region.

According to official information, a criminal case has been initiated against the company that employed the illegal migrants.
