Tajikistan imposes ban on export of all types of agricultural products

The Tajik government has banned the export of all types of agricultural products until April this year, Tajik Minister of Agriculture Kurbon Hakimzoda said, Avesta reports.

During the reporting period (2022), Tajikistan exported 191.2 thousand tons of agricultural products for a total of $54.3 million, tajik minister said.

“In terms of volume, exports of agricultural products in 2022 are inferior to the volume of exports in 2021 by 17.6 thousand tons, but in terms of value last year, revenue was $17.6 million more than a year earlier,” the head of the Ministry of Agriculture noted.

According to him, in particular, 76.6 thousand tons of vegetables were exported last year, including 66.6 thousand tons of onions, 54.5 thousand tons of fruits, 52.4 thousand tons of dried fruits.

Agricultural products were exported to 20 countries of the world, 92% of the total export volume falls on the CIS countries and 8% on other countries.

At the final meeting of the government of the country, the President of Tajikistan instructed to impose a ban on the export of all types of agricultural products until April this year, Hakimzoda said.
