Tajikistan increases volume of foreign trade in quarter

The volume of Tajikistan's foreign trade has grown by a quarter, the Customs Service of Tajikistan said.

From 2021 to 2022, Tajikistan's external trade increased by 25%, to $7.5 billion. This is $1.5 billion more than in 2021. The total import of goods exceeded $5.1 billion. This is $965 million or 24% higher than in 2021. Export increased from $1.7 billion to $2.7 billion (by 30.4%).

Half of last year's trade ($3.8 billion) falls on neighboring countries. Over the year, it grew by $761 million, or almost 25%. Goods worth $762 million were exported to neighboring countries (an increase of 33%), and goods worth $580 million were imported (an increase of 22.4%).

$3.6 billion was the trade turnover of Tajikistan with non-CIS countries. Over the year, it increased by 48%, or $747 million. Exports to these countries amounted to $1.5 billion (an increase of 29%), and imports - more than $2 billion (23.7%).
