The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) has published a working report, "Eurasian Transport Framework: Project Observatory and Interactive Map," dedicated to monitoring and coordinating the development of international transport corridors and routes across Eurasia, Asiaplus.tj reports.

The study analyzed 325 infrastructure projects included in the Eurasian Transport Framework (ETF) as of July 1, 2025. The total investment volume for these projects is estimated at $234.1 billion. Over 60% of the projects are in the implementation phase, 12.8% are in the design documentation stage, and another 27.2% are in the planning stage.

According to the report, the majority of investments in the development of ETF international transport corridors by 2035—51.9%—will be directed toward the construction and modernization of road infrastructure. The authors emphasize that the creation of modern, high-speed highways is critical to stimulating logistics, trade, and tourism, especially in landlocked countries and regions. By 2035, such roads, with a total length of over 10,000 kilometers, are expected to serve trade and tourism flows in at least seven countries in the Eurasian region.

Road development is particularly important for Central Asia, where road transport remains the primary means of improving connectivity. Countries in the region account for over 22% of all investment in ETC projects. Ninety projects worth approximately $53 billion are being implemented or planned, with almost two-thirds of the funds being directed toward developing the highway network.

The report notes that Tajikistan plans to invest approximately $1 billion in Eurasian Transport Framework projects. Furthermore, seven of the ten largest ETC projects are being implemented in Russia. A separate section of the document is devoted to the key transport corridors of the Eurasian transport framework, which form the basis for the future integration of the region's transport systems.

The EDB report covers 13 Eurasian countries: Azerbaijan, Armenia, Afghanistan, Belarus, Georgia, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan. The observatory data is compiled and regularly updated based on open sources, including national and international transport development programs, press releases, and expert assessments.
