Tajikistan plans to establish joint industrial zones with Russia, following similar projects that have already been implemented with Central Asian countries. This was announced by Sherali Kabiri, the Minister of Industry and New Technologies of Tajikistan, during discussions with journalists, TASS reports.
During his visit to Russia this year, Kabiri discussed this idea with Deputy Prime Minister of Russia and Minister of Industry and Trade, Denis Manturov.
"We had a significant conversation with esteemed Minister Denis Manturov, and we came to the conclusion that, for example, in creating technological parks similar to those Russia has built in other countries, we will also utilize this experience in our neighboring countries," Kabiri said.
He also mentioned that ideas for creating a chemical technology park and a machinery manufacturing cluster are being discussed. "We don't have major machinery manufacturing plants in Tajikistan. Russia, on the other hand, has this experience," he added.
In July, Sherali Kabiri visited Yekaterinburg and participated in the "Innoprom-2023" exhibition. During the visit, the Tajik Ministry of Industry reported that Kabiri proposed collaboration with Manturov on priority projects in Tajikistan's mining, textile, and food industries, as well as the establishment of joint industrial zones.
