The poverty rate has decreased from 83% to 22.5% in Tajikistan, during the years of independence, stated Zavkizoda Zavki Amin, the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan, at a solemn gathering of the ministry's team in honor of the 32nd anniversary of the Republic's State Independence, Avesta reports.
Regardless of external factors, thanks to the successful implementation of state strategies and programs, in just 22 years of state independence, the gross domestic product has increased 64 times, GDP per capita has grown 32 times, and the population's monetary income has risen 101 times. During this period of independence, the poverty rate has decreased from 83% to 22.5%. Additionally, 3430 new educational institutions, 2827 new medical facilities, over 2400 kilometers of roads, and more than 2000 megawatts of new energy capacity have been built, emphasized Zavkizoda.
The ministry's employees were tasked with continuously striving to protect and strengthen the achievements of State Independence in their professional and personal activities.
