Tajikistan ranks second in the world in terms of antimony reserves, Ilhomjon Oymuhammadzoda, head of the Main Department of Geology of Tajikistan (Tajikglavgeology), said in Dushanbe, Avesta reports.

China ranks first in the world in terms of antimony reserves, while Tajikistan ranks second and first among the CIS countries.

There are 11 antimony deposits in Tajikistan, Oymuhammadzoda said.

"Nine of them are located in the Zarafshan and Gissar valleys," he added.

There are also 10 promising gold deposits in Tajikistan, the reserves of which will be explored, the official added.
