The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is implementing a project in Tajikistan worth $18 million aimed at developing entrepreneurship and the business environment, Khovar reports.
The project is designed for five years, with the goal of assisting enterprises in the textile and processing industries, as well as the IT sector, to increase their productivity, adopt new technologies, attract investments, and establish market linkages, according to the statement.
"This will create 5,000 permanent jobs, help 200 start-up enterprises access financing, and attract $10 million in private sector investments," the agency writes.
As reported in the information bulletin on the USAID website, a similar project was launched in Tajikistan in 2019, scheduled until 2024. In March of this year, USAID allocated $7.5 million to the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) to provide assistance to families in Tajikistan facing food shortages.
