Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan will bid to host the 2031 Asian Cup, the Tajikistan Football Federation said in a statement, Khovar reports.
The football federations of the three Central Asian countries have agreed to jointly submit a bid to host the Asian Championship in 2031. The Asian Cup has never been held in Central Asia.
The President of the Central Asian Football Association (CAFA) Rustam Emomali announced his desire to submit a joint bid to host the Asian Cup at the CAFA Congress in 2023.
“Our Central Asian region has never hosted the final part of the Asian Cup in history. I think the time has come. Our region is represented by very strong teams and I am confident that together with the fraternal countries we will host the final part of the Asian Cup at the highest level,” said CAFA President Rustam Emomali at the time.
The President of the Asian Football Confederation Sheikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa, in his speech at the CAFA Congress in Dushanbe in 2023, welcomed the initiative of the respected Rustam Emomali to submit a joint bid of the Central Asian countries to host the final part of the Asian Cup and said that this region deserves to host the Asian championship among national teams.
