The State Material Reserves Agency under the government of Tajikistan has signed a contract for the supply of fuel and petroleum products with the Russian company "Tatneft." This information was reported by the agency, TASS reports.
The Tajik material reserves agency noted that the meeting between the leadership and representatives of "Tatneft" took place in Kazan during the visit of the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon to the city on February 21-22. The volume of deliveries under the contract was not specified by the agency.
"During the meeting, representatives of the agency's leadership discussed with representatives of the company 'Tatneft' the issue of supplying fuel and other petroleum products to the Republic of Tajikistan and signed a corresponding contract with the said company," the statement said.
The State Material Reserves Agency in Tajikistan is responsible for forming reserves for the economic security of the republic. Russia is the main supplier of petroleum products to Tajikistan; according to the Antimonopoly Service of Tajikistan, more than 60% of them were purchased from Russia in 2023. This year, according to the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources of Tajikistan, the export of petroleum products from Russia may also increase by more than 8%.
