Tajikistan increased its foreign trade turnover with CIS countries by 19.5%, amounting to $557 million from January to October 2024, according to a report by the Tajikistan Statistics Agency, Halva.tj reports.
Trade turnover with non-CIS countries also grew by 17.8%, an increase of $589.4 million during the same period.
Export volumes reached $1.547 billion, reflecting a 1.6% rise ($24.2 million more) compared to the same period in 2023. Imports, however, amounted to $5.767 billion, showing a significant 24.2% growth ($1.122 billion more).
The main export partners were:
- China (20.3%),
- Switzerland (19.3%),
- Turkey (12.2%),
- Kazakhstan (11.9%),
- Uzbekistan (9.3%),
- Afghanistan (5.8%),
- Russia (5.3%),
- Iran (5.5%),
- and other countries, including the Netherlands, UAE, USA, and Italy in smaller percentages.
Regarding imports, Tajikistan's top partners were:
- Russia (26.6%),
- China (22.1%),
- Kazakhstan (15.6%),
- Uzbekistan (5.9%),
- Iran (3.5%),
- and others, including Turkey, South Korea, Belarus, Germany, and the US.
