Economic Results of 2024
One of the main achievements was the increase in the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in 2024, which reached 153.4 billion somoni ($14.05 billion). The GDP growth rate stood at 8.4%, marking significant progress despite global economic crises and the COVID-19 pandemic. Zavqizoda highlighted that the GDP volume increased by 74.3 billion somoni, which is 2.2 times higher than the previous period.
Regarding household incomes, they totaled 99 billion somoni over the past year, which is three times higher than in previous years, indicating improved living standards and economic stability.
Average Economic Growth over Five Years
The average growth rate of the national economy over the past five years was 7.7%. Excluding 2020, when the COVID-19 pandemic caused a significant downturn, the growth rate stood at 8.5%, 0.7% higher than the 2015–2019 period.
Goals for 2025
The President instructed ministries to ensure an economic growth rate of at least 8% in 2025. Zavqizoda stated that the ministry will continue leveraging modern macroeconomic and econometric models to develop accurate forecasts.
Efforts will also focus on preventing economic risks, with the ministry having already attracted $630 million in grants and concessional loans to strengthen the economy. The ministry plans to attract additional funding in 2025 to ensure sustainable development.
Green Economy and Sustainable Development
A significant priority for 2025 will be creating a "green economy." Zavqizoda noted that the ministry will work on implementing environmentally friendly technologies and developing a sustainable economic model to support long-term growth.
Medium-Term Development Program for 2026–2030
An essential task mentioned during the event was drafting the "Medium-Term Development Program for 2026–2030," the third and final phase of Tajikistan’s National Development Strategy until 2030. This program will focus on economic growth, human capital development, technological advancements, and the production of competitive goods. Special attention will be given to science and innovation.

Zavqizoda emphasized that all ministry staff and structural divisions must adopt the President’s Address as the foundation for their work in the coming years. He stressed that all measures outlined in the Address should be implemented efficiently and promptly to ensure further economic growth and improved well-being for citizens.
