TCO paid Kazakhstan $6.2 bln for first half of 2024

In January-June 2024, the Kazakh company Tengizchevroil LLP (TCO) produced 14.4 million tons (114.6 million barrels) of crude oil and more than 575 million cubic meters of dry gas. The company supplied almost all of this gas to the domestic market via the Kazakhstan gas pipeline. TCO also sold 669 thousand tons of liquefied gas and 1.4 million tons of sulfur in the first half of 2024. This is stated in the press release on TCO's results for the second quarter of 2024.

For the two quarters of 2024, direct payments to the Republic of Kazakhstan amounted to about $6.2 billion. About $4.2 billion of this amount is payments to the country's budget, including taxes and royalties, the company reported.

Kazakh contractors and employees of the company earned more than $1.7 billion. During the same period, TCO spent about $1.5 billion on the development of Kazakh content, including more than $760 million under the Future Growth Project - Wellhead Pressure Management Project (FGP - WPMP).

Tengizchevroil LLP was established in 1993 based on an agreement between Kazakhstan and Chevron. Currently, TCO's partners are Chevron (50%), JSC NC KazMunayGas (20%), ExxonMobil Kazakhstan Ventures Inc. (25%) and Lukoil (5%).
