A UN technical mission visited Turkmenistan with a special mission, review and assess the development of the new administrative center of the Akhal velayat of Turkmenistan, the city of Arkadag, Turkmenportal.com reports.
The meeting of the deputy heads of ministries and departments of Turkmenistan with representatives of the UN mission was held o February 25, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Myakhri Byashimova, expressed her gratitude to the UN representatives for accepting the offer to visit and assess the city of Arkadag. She expressed her conviction that the visit was fruitful. Byashimova was appointed to this position at the end of January 2023 after the transformation of the country's parliament.
Representatives of the UN technical mission, who spoke, highly appreciated the city of Arkadag and noted that the facilities built here correspond to advanced standards and current realities in terms of environmental friendliness, safety and manufacturability. At the same time, the commission did not give any details of the assessment of the city still under construction.
The parties agreed to provide elements of a roadmap for the implementation of the recommendations made during the technical mission, according to a statement on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
