Over the past two years, there has been an increase in trade turnover between Turkmenistan and Armenia. In 2022, this indicator sharply increased by 50% compared to 2021, and during the first six months of 2023, there was a 5% growth, according to Ruben Harazyan, the Ambassador of Armenia to Turkmenistan. He made these remarks in an article for the Turkmen press on the occasion of the 32nd anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Armenia, Orient.tm reports.
"It is gratifying to note that the current relations between Armenia and Turkmenistan are based on deep mutual understanding and traditionally good relations that have historically developed between our countries and peoples," the ambassador noted, adding that "there are no political disagreements between Armenia and Turkmenistan: on all issues, our positions are close or coincide."
One of the key components for further development, according to the Armenian diplomat, is the work of the intergovernmental commission. Cultural heritage issues and strengthening cooperation in the fields of science and education occupy a special place in bilateral relations.
Ambassador Harazyan characterized the Turkmen-Armenian dialogue as sincere and trustworthy.
