Representatives of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Korea held an online meeting on cybersecurity issues, which demonstrates the growing attention of both countries to the protection of the digital space.
The videoconference, held on April 10, was attended by specialists from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the State Cybersecurity Service under the Turkmenaragatnashyk Agency (Turkmen Communications) and the Korea Internet and Information Security Agency (KISA). Cybersecurity is a set of measures aimed at protecting computer systems and networks from various threats, such as hacker attacks, identity theft and the spread of malware. In the modern world, where most processes, from government services to personal communication, are moving online, ensuring cybersecurity is becoming extremely important for the protection of both the state and each individual Internet user.
During the online meeting, representatives of Turkmenistan and South Korea exchanged views on how to expand cooperation between the two countries in the field of information, cyber and internet security. This includes sharing experiences, joint projects and training specialists.
KISA representatives expressed interest in Turkmen specialists participating in international events and specialized trainings held in South Korea. This will allow Turkmen experts to gain advanced knowledge and skills in the field of cybersecurity. Both sides emphasized the importance of continuing to exchange experiences, which will allow both countries to learn from each other's practices and jointly counter modern cyber threats.
The State Cyber Security Service under the Turkmenaragatnashyk Agency is a key body in Turkmenistan responsible for ensuring the security of the country's information systems and networks. The participation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs underlines the importance of international cooperation in this area. The Korea Internet and Information Security Agency (KISA) is the leading organization in South Korea dealing with internet security and information protection.
This meeting is an important step towards strengthening cooperation between Turkmenistan and South Korea in such an important area as cybersecurity. Exchange of experience and participation in international programs will help increase the level of security of the digital space of Turkmenistan, which in turn will ensure the safety of citizens, businesses and government agencies in the online environment.
